清咸丰年间，村口建起一座尼姑庵，村因此得名。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村境内有幸福渠贯穿全村，渠长约10公里。村址距建阳城区14公里，距莒口镇8公里。[2]
经济[edit]
农业以烟叶和薯类为主导产业，庵口薯是村中的特色作物。食用菌与家禽养殖也是村民增收的途径。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
该村曾被认定为建阳市新农村建设综合样板村。[2]
