新村村因村委会设在本村而得名。村子位于崇阳溪西岸，南平至武夷山的公路与浦南高速公路经过村境[1]。2022年2月起，村归崇阳街道管辖[2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

古田水电站于1958年开始蓄水，过溪乡一带的几个村庄有农户迁往营盘山脚，盖起12栋新屋[2]。当年冬天其中16户定居下来；次年，这里设立新建大队，归城关公社管辖[2]。1960年到1962年，又有几十户古田移民迁入[2]。1970年，大队被撤销，只留下生产小组，后来大队建制得以恢复[2]。1984年，大队改称新村村，隶属童游乡；2003年以后改归童游街道；2016年12月，村部搬到鲤鱼嘴，离万达广场约1千米[2]。2022年2月起，村划归崇阳街道[2][3]。

经济[edit]

村民的收入主要来自食用菌栽培、芥菜种植、机砖生产、运输和经商[1]。
