西桥居民委员会于1995年成立，2003年5月改称西桥社区。2022年2月23日之后，社区划归宝山街道管辖。[1]

社区东邻桥南社区，南与兴建社区相连，北与西门社区毗邻。辖区面积0.3平方千米，常住户1632户，人口7489人。[2]

辖区内有建阳市体育场，场内设塑胶跑道以及乒乓球馆、羽毛球馆，麻阳溪畔另有一条休闲步道。[2]

社区内设有一所中学和一所幼儿园，并有一所社区卫生服务中心。[2]
