2022年2月23日，南平市政府批准设立宝山街道等五个街道，同时撤并原有的潭城、童游两个街道的辖区。[1][2]

原属潭城街道与童游街道的社区和村，在2022年2月23日之后改由宝山街道管辖。[1][2]
