据博雅地名网所载，村域总面积11.6万多亩，其中林地52200多亩；全村864户3400多人，党员78人，统计年份未注明。[2] 村内设23个村民小组。[2]
村里重点发展烤烟、葡萄和淮山等农作物。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期此地属均亭里。1928年属水南乡，1945年并乡后改属徐市乡，1949年后经土地改革设周墩乡，属城关公社。[3]
1958年人民公社化后组建周墩大队，到1962年，大队驻地定在下周墩。1984年改称周墩村，隶属童游乡；2002年12月起划归潭城街道。[3]
