严墩村位于潭城街道西部，距建阳市区约5公里，全村面积约3平方公里，下设7个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村内人口最集中的两个居民点为上严墩和下严墩，村名取自这两个居民点的名称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属三桂里。1928年划入水南乡，1932年推行联保制度，1945年隶属景贤镇。1961年成立严墩大队，1984年大队改称严墩村，隶属童游乡；2002年12月起划归潭城街道。[1]
