历史沿革[edit]
此地解放前称西市保。1949年7月设立西市街居民委员会，1950年后改称西市街，2003年5月起称西市社区。[1]
辖区概况[edit]
辖区内有4个小区，商贸与居住并存，人口较为密集。据百度百科，常住人口3408人、1136户，统计年份未注明。[3] 博雅地名网另载社区内有机关企事业单位20个，同样未注年份。[2]
2003年12月，社区建成综合服务大楼，建筑面积1120平方米，内设再就业服务中心、警务室、棋牌室、阅览室和健身房。[2]
