盖头村位于原大洋乡南部，今属茫荡镇。村委会驻盖头，村名寓意村庄居群山之首。[1][2]

下有4个自然村，即盖头、底蔡、上黄与水尾。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1657年（顺治十四年）起隶新兴里；1934年归南平县第二区，1941年改入茂地乡，称盖头保；1943年改属宝茂乡。1949年列入第六区，1958年隶红专（峡阳）公社。[1][3]

1961年改隶大洋公社，称盖头大队；1980年公社撤销、改设乡级建制，原大队更名盖头村；2002年归茫荡镇。[1][2]

文化遗产[edit]

高地种善桥为清代石桥，高地下水尾桥亦为清代建筑，两者均见于2012年延平区不可移动文物名录。[1][4]
