岩头村位于延平区北部，与建瓯市接壤，属茫荡镇下辖的行政村。村名据1993年《南平市志·地名志》，村处凉伞岩高峰，故名。[1][2]

自然村有小沟、下东坑、杨梅腰、演山、白连塘，另有上村、下村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清顺治十四年（1657年）此地属新兴里。1934年归南平县第二区，称岩头保；1946年改属大溪乡；1949年列入第七区，1952年归第十一区。[1]

1958年隶红专（峡阳）公社；1961年改属大洋公社，称岩头大队；1984年归大洋乡；2002年撤销茂地镇与大洋乡后，属茫荡镇，改称岩头村委会。[1]

文化遗产[edit]

岩头奉宪严禁碑为清代石刻，见于2012年延平区不可移动文物名录。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予岩头村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
