茂地村是茫荡镇下辖的行政村，原为茂地镇政府所在地，距城区约2.4公里，海拔约800米，属茫荡山脉。村名的变迁与当地地形有关，原名漏地，后改称茂地。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村所在山形如铁锅，村庄居于锅底，水尾处有缺口，故称漏地。后因溪边生长淡红色的蓼草，且红色吉祥，改称蓼地，再后改称茂地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武元年（1368年）此地属梅岐南里，清顺治十四年（1657年）改隶梅南里。1934年归南平县第二区，称茂地乡；1943年改入宝茂乡；1949年列入第六区，1952年归第十一区。[1]

1958年并入「绿色金库（王台）人民公社」；1961年由王台公社分出，改属茂地公社，称茂地大队；1984年改设村委会；2002年茫荡镇设立，政府驻茂地村，2003年8月迁往安丰村。[1][3]

文化遗产与风物[edit]

茂地上真殿为清代建筑，茂地瑞龙桥为清代石桥，两者均列入2012年延平区不可移动文物名录，瑞龙桥为区级文物保护单位。[4]

村内里村水库1977年动工，1980年竣工，1990年被南平市人大命名为天湖，今辟为天湖景区。[2]

每年农历三月初三，村中迎真武祖师菩萨，设祭祖仪式，并以发福饼的形式祈求五谷丰登，是一年一度的传统节日。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予茂地村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
