北山村是茫荡镇下辖的行政村。村名中的“北”指方位，“山”即山岭。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武元年（1368年）此地属梅岐西里，入清后于顺治十四年（1657年）改隶梅西里。民国时期先隶南平县第二区的宝珠乡，1943年改编入宝茂乡。新中国成立后曾分隶第六区与第十一区，1956年划入王台区，1958年并入「绿色金库（王台）人民公社」。[1]

1961年，本村由王台公社分出，划归茂地公社；1984年设茂地乡北山村委会；2002年撤销茂地镇与大洋乡后，划归茫荡镇。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，北山村上榜南平市「绿盈乡村」中级版村庄名单；同年12月，它被认定为福建省第一批高级版「绿盈乡村」。福建省农业农村厅于2022年10月将北山村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；同年12月，北山村被福建省绿化委员会命名为「2022年福建省森林村庄」。[1]
