西山村位于316国道沿线，距延平区市区30公里，村辖8个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村委会设在西山，村名旧称鸡山，后改名西山，据《1993年南平市志·地名志》。[1]

西山村早年在1934年归南平县第三区太平乡管辖，当时称西山保。1958年改称西山大队，1961年并入杨曾公社，1963年再回到太平公社。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村内有8个自然村，村民小组共10个，其中包括长万、车厝后和石步鼻等。已勘明透辉石、硫、铁等矿产资源。[3]

文化[edit]

该村于2022年10月列为2022年度南平市「绿盈乡村」中级版村庄。[1]
