岳溪村位于闽江中上游北岸，在太平镇驻地西北约5.8千米。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村位于闽江边，河湾形状像月亮，“月”与“岳”读音相近，村名由此而来。[1]
早在1934年，它便属南平县第三区太平乡，当时称岳溪保。新中国成立后的1958年先称岳溪大队，1984年才改设村民委员会，1992年并入新设的太平镇。[1]
