元墟村是延平区王台镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域西南部，距集镇约9.5公里。博雅地名网写作「元圩村」。村名的来历：此地原由王氏创设圩场，称王源圩，后演变为元墟。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1657年（清顺治十四年）此地属太平里。1936年时此地称山尾保，隶属溪后乡；民国末年改归台溪镇，新中国成立后设山尾乡。1958年改称井窠大队，此后隶属屡有调整，1984年后归王台乡，1991年改隶王台镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

博雅地名网称，古代茶坑自然村曾出过十八名官员，官职最高为兵部尚书。南山一带有明代登仕郎林台隐墓遗址。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，元墟村获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
