桐坑村位于南山镇东部，面积为1.162万亩，共181户、847人，下设4个村民小组。村名取自村中的梧桐树。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据《南平市志·地名志》（1993年），村委会驻桐坑，建村后相传喜鹊栖于几棵梧桐树上，故名。明洪武元年（1368年）属遵教里，清代沿袭。民国时期归遵教乡，称童子园保，后称桐坑保。1949年划入第二区凤山镇前村乡，1950年改属大凤镇前村乡，1958年称桐坑大队，1961年改属江边公社，1963年并入大凤公社，1984年属大凤乡，1991年划归南山镇。[1][2]

1987年，桐坑村被福建省评定为老区村。[1][2]
