据《南平市志·地名志》（1993年），因古建筑八字桥而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1975年设峡阳镇农场（良种场）。2004年12月27日起，以该农场为基础设制八字桥行政村，隶属峡阳镇。[1]
