地名由来[edit]
据《南平市志·地名志》（1993年），此名为文化大革命时期所取，寓意向前奋进。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1941年称义勇保，1949年称义勇街。1961年更名为前进大队，1981年设前进街委会，1984年改设前进街村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
峡阳应氏状元祠位于前进街，时代为清代，为县级文物保护单位。[2]
