鳌洲街村是延平区峡阳镇辖的行政村，城乡分类属镇中心区，与中兴社区相邻。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据《南平市志·地名志》（1993年）所载，旧时正月十五上元节，街上花灯盛行，老少手提鳌鱼灯，舞龙舞狮聚集于此，祈求风调雨顺，村因此得名。[1]

村街与鳌州岛隔河相望，岛屿周边有龟石、剑石、鸡冠岩等奇石。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧属峡阳里（明洪武元年，即1368年起）。1941年称鳌洲保，1958年改入红专人民公社（峡阳），1984年改属峡阳镇。[1]
