山后村位于闽江北岸，距延平城区中心约15公里，南临闽江，外福铁路与南古公路从村域通过，属夏道镇。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来：村委会设于山后，旧志载其地属崇福里，后村民迁往大山之后，故得此名。[3]

明清时属崇福里。民国时期几经改隶：1934年属第一区圣安乡，此后在南山乡与凤山镇下分别称山后保、茶后保。1950年转入第四区安济乡，1954年改设夏道镇下的山后乡，1958年入东方红（夏道）公社，1984年又为夏道镇所辖。[2]

1985年间村庄分为山后与大桥两村，1998年两村重新合并为山后村；1995年底，村民由原高山迁至南古公路旁居住。[1]

文化[edit]

每年农历三月初三为村中的传统节日。[1]
