洋头村位于延平城区南部，距316国道约6公里，与夏道镇的罗坑村、吴丹村毗邻。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄地势平坦，农田集中，森林覆盖率较高。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来：村舍坐落在一片开阔的洋田之上。[2]

明清两代属云盖里。民国时期归第六区，其后经鸠洋乡、洋罗乡等建制。1958年设于东方红（夏道）公社，1961年划入鸠上公社，1963年并回夏道公社，1984年属夏道镇。[3]

2021年6月，村庄入选「福建省第四批省级传统村落」名单；2021年11月，获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年12月，被福建省农业农村厅确定为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村」（蔬菜）。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有青铜时代的洋头遗址，载于《延平区第三次全国文物普查不可移动文物名录》。[4]
