吴丹村位于夏道镇西南部，东邻炉下镇，南与塔前镇相接。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄四面青山环抱，地形似盆地。村辖吴坑、水井坪、谢丹、福山四个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名来自吴姓始居此地，初称吴地，后改称吴丹。[2]

明清两代属云盖里。民国时期先属第六区，后归第一区鸠洋乡，初称谢坑保，1947年改称吴丹保。解放后经历第四区鸠上与吴丹乡的变动；1958年设吴丹大队，1961年归鸠上公社，1963年改属夏道公社，1984年属夏道镇。[3]
