小鸠村位于夏道镇东南部，濒临闽江，与桥头、夏道、徐洋等村相连。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来由是此地山形似鸠，村民沿山脚聚居成落，村因之称小鸠。[1]

早在明清两朝，此地便属寿山里。1934年，村归第六区下道镇管辖；1941年改设小鸠保。1950年代属夏道镇；1958年并入东方红（夏道）公社；1984年再次划归夏道镇。[2]

2021年11月，村庄被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，入选「2022年度南平市绿盈乡村中级版村庄」名单。[1]
