桥头村位于闽江上游南岸，与夏道镇中心仅一桥之隔。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村舍沿河岸呈带状排列，北面临闽江，南面靠山，村内有两条水泥路，一条向东通往夏道，一条向西连接江南新区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取自村委会驻地「桥头」：旧时村尾有石拱桥，村舍位于桥的上方。[3]

此地自明清起便在寿山里的范围之内。1934年起归第六区管辖，1941年改为第一区的桥头保，1950年后的数年归第四区。1958年在东方红（夏道）公社下设桥头大队，1984年回到夏道镇。[2]

2021年11月，桥头村获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有青铜时代的桥头土目洲遗址，列入《延平区第三次全国文物普查不可移动文物名录》。[4]
