新建社区位于来舟镇的镇中心区，名称取自1963年新组建的历史。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年至1963年，此处属王台公社，称来舟大队下的新建第四生产队；1963年划归来舟大队，称新建自然村。[1]

1980年前后，农业户口陆续转为非农业户口；1981年设立新建居委会。2002年，居委会改称新建社区居民委员会，仍归来舟镇管辖。[1]
