红星村属水东街道，位于南平市东南部，周边分别是南山镇、夏道镇、大横镇和塔下村，距南平市区十公里。村名因系革命老区村而取为红星。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，村地属崇福里。1958年隶属红旗公社，次年改属东坑公社，1963年称红星大队。1984年，东坑公社改设东坑乡，大队改为红星村村民委员会；1993年东坑乡撤销，村民委员会划归水东街道。[1][2]

2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅将红星村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村内最高的山是凤洋山，海拔580多米。[1]
