地名由来[edit]
据《1993年南平市志·地名志》，村委会驻玉地。北宋杨时后裔杨善发至此开基，取当地山名为村名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时属罗源里。民国末期，1941年归一区西芹镇的玉地保；1950年至1956年间改隶四区上地乡，同年十月又划入西芹区篁路乡。[3]
1958年转由西芹（五区）管辖，1961年又改属夏道（四区），并以下地大队为名。1964年下地大队划归东坑公社；1984年改为下地村。东坑乡撤销后，下地村并入水南街道，同年改名玉地村。[3]
人口与土地[edit]
2011年末的统计显示，村里有294户、1092人，男性549人、女性543人；村内两个自然村，设五个村民小组。[2]
2011年末，全村耕地968亩，林地约16450亩，其中毛竹林约7690亩；村民收入以毛竹、春笋为主。[2]
祭祖[edit]
每年农历二月首个丁日，杨时后裔举行祭祖大典，相沿已有400多年。[2]
