八仙村是水南街道下辖的行政村，位于街道办事处东南方，濒临闽江，距中心城区约3公里。江南新区的朱熹路贯穿全村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据《1993年南平市志·地名志》，村委会驻地为八仙，村地处闽江边，江边一块礁石形似桌子，相传古时八位仙人曾在此饮酒下棋，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清两代，此地属剑津里。1941年起归进贤乡，名为八仙保；1947年改隶超骧镇，名称未变；1950年归南平县第一区，改称八仙乡。[1]
1958年划入红旗公社，次年转东坑公社，编为八仙大队。1984年，东坑公社改设东坑乡，大队遂更名八仙村委会。1993年东坑乡撤销，村委会归入水南街道。[1]
土地与荣誉[edit]
全村土地约1.7万亩，林地超过1.5万亩，耕地约1000亩。[2]
2022年10月，八仙村入选南平市「绿盈乡村」中级版村庄名单。[1]
