紫云街道位于福建省南平市中心区域，是延平区的街道之一。街道名取自驻地所在的紫云岗，「紫云」一词有「紫气东来」的吉祥寓意。东侧以滨江路为界，与梅山街道相邻；南面连接四鹤街道；西边靠环城路，北边到达环城路北麓。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清朝时，辖区内有梅峰、迎仙、天河、北门、三元等坊。民国初年划入第一区（城区），1946年又归平和镇，1948年改属超骧镇。[3]

新中国成立后，1949年8月时辖区仍在第一区之内，属超骧镇一带；1950年10月并入城关镇。1957年3月组建的机构为紫云办事处，1958年11月它改称紫云管区，隶属延平公社。[3]

1982年5月，它归「南平市人民政府城市工作办公室」管辖，是该办公室所辖的六个街道之一，同年起用现名。1991年6月，城市工作办公室撤销，街道改由县级南平市人民政府管理。1995年1月，南平地区撤销并设南平市，原县级南平市更名为延平区，紫云街道因而隶属延平区。[2][3]

人口民族[edit]

第七次全国人口普查时，2020年11月1日零时的常住人口为40652人。[4]

居民以汉族为主，口语上兼用普通话、城区北方方言岛语种和福州话。[2]

地理环境[edit]

街道辖区面积约6.5平方千米，位于市区中心地带。八一路、解放路和内环路穿越辖区，交通便利。[2][4]

当地属中亚热带季风气候，冬季短暂，夏季较长，常有多雾、潮湿的天气。[2]
