东教社区位于延平区黄墩街道辖区内，属主城区。社区名称据《1993年南平市志·地名志》所载，因昔时此地有演武场（俗称教场），故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

“文化大革命”时期此地名为东升居民委员会，20世纪80年代改称东教居民委员会。2002年起称东教社区，仍归黄墩街道。[1]
