解放社区位于市区繁华地段，东面紧挨梅峰路，西侧接解放路，北边邻近八一路。社区名称是为纪念延平城区解放而定。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区于20世纪50年代成立，初称华光居委会。2001年11月，紫云街道管下的一个解放社区改由梅山街道管理；2002年5月，经社区整合，改称解放社区居民委员会。[1][2]
