梅山街道位于南平市中心城区，地名取自旧时山坡上多植梅树的景象。区内有一处宋代遗址和两处民国时期的旧址，均列入延平区第三次全国文物普查的不可移动文物名录。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，这一带有东门、中和等地段。民国时期这里属第一区（城关），1946年划归平和镇，1948年改属超骧镇；1949年8月仍属第一区超骧镇，1950年10月改属城关镇。[2][3]

梅山办事处设立于1957年3月。1958年11月，此地先称梅山管区，归延平人民公社管理；1982年5月起由南平市人民政府的城市工作办公室统辖，1991年6月该办公室被撤，地段随即归县级南平市政府所辖。1995年1月，南平撤市设区，此地成为延平区的一部分。[2][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

金山塔社区的「金山塔鬼城遗址」为宋代遗址，是延平区第三次全国文物普查登记的古遗址之一。[4]

文宣社区内有「文宣新四军南平留守处遗址」，为中华民国时期的近现代建筑；同社区的「梅山冯超骧故居旧址」也属中华民国时期的近现代建筑。[4]

黄花岗七十二烈士之一冯超骧，1880年生于江苏南京，原籍福建南平，1911年在广州的起义中牺牲，葬于黄花岗。他的故居在文宣社区。[4][5]
