湖林乡是福建省漳州市华安县北部的一个乡，位于九龙江北溪中游，乡政府驻西陂村。全乡辖8个行政村。行政区域面积，博雅地名网作185.7平方千米，百度百科正文作168.68平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年以前，这一带属珍山乡。解放初，此地仍称珍山乡，隶属第四区。[1][2]

1958年，此地的公社叫火箭；次年公社改名湖林。1977年，公社驻地自湖林迁往西陂，1984年设立湖林乡人民政府，乡名取自湖林村。[1][2]

乡名「湖林」由玉屏盂与后林两地名各取一字合成，因“盂”与“湖”读音相近而定。[2]

地理环境[edit]

湖林乡地处华安县北部，九龙江北溪从境内流过。乡境东面与仙都镇及安溪县的丰田乡相连，南面与华丰镇相邻，西面与漳平市的官田乡紧挨，北面是漳平市的芦芝乡。[1][2]

鹰厦铁路在乡内设有西陂站。[3]

人口[edit]

百度百科记载，截至2019年末，全乡户籍人口为9322人。博雅地名网的信息框作约5526人，其概况页作9600多人，两者均未注明年份。[1][2][5]

荣誉[edit]

2014年9月，环境保护部授予湖林乡「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]

福建省爱卫办于2020年12月作出决定，授予湖林乡「福建省卫生乡镇」称号。[2]

2021年2月，湖林乡列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

乡内的玉屏盂峰战斗遗址在湖林村境内，是1949年的一处战斗遗址。[4]
