村旁九龙江北溪的一段称龙潭峡，据博雅地名网，此处江面开阔，两岸山势相拱，传说中有「九龙戏水」之事。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1943年此地归建玉乡所辖。1949年后划入沙建乡，当时名为建美村；1958年变为建美大队，1984年成立建美村委会。[1]
