玉兰村位于华安县的最南端，四县区在这里交会。村东与长泰县相接，村南隔着九龙江与芗城区相望，东南与龙文区为邻。距漳州市区约20公里、距长泰县城约12公里。村落面积9.23平方公里，有3600余人、980户，下设22个村民小组，村中共5个自然村。[1][2]

地名与历史[edit]

村名来自村中的玉兰自然村。旧属龙溪县管辖，古时称玉兰坂，属浦西保。[1]

据村中黄氏族谱，始祖明智公于元至元二年（1336年）由龙溪县迁居九龙江北溪柳长洲。明洪武十七年（1384年）江水冲毁柳长洲，黄氏三房分居三地，其中一支立基玉兰坂，至今历二十六世，已有六百多年。[2]

清顺治九年（1652年），黄氏九世孙黄居中中进士，出任甘肃灵台县令。[2]

古建筑[edit]

村中现存追远堂、光裕堂和进士第三处古建筑，追远堂为黄氏祠堂。[2]
