福塘村是秀峰乡的行政村，位于闽粤两省交界处，村内保存有福塘建筑群和太极古村等清代至民国的古建筑与古村落。[1][4][5]

地名由来[edit]

福塘一名，系从福乾美与塘背科两处自然村的名字中各取首字而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地称上大峰乡，1939年编入维新乡的大峰保。1950年以福乾美、塘背科两地的首字命名为福塘乡。1958年于长乐公社内设福塘大队，1984年起改为村委会，1993年起属秀峰乡。[1][2]

荣誉与姓氏[edit]

福塘村在2014年11月进入第三批中国传统村落的名录。2024年6月，福塘村入选「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。2016年5月，福塘村经福建省政府认定，列入「第五批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。[1]

据维基百科，村中的朱、曾两姓原由平和县九峰镇苏洋迁来。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

福塘建筑群于2018年被列为省级文物保护单位（福建省第九批）。群内共八处建筑：六座合院式民居，「万顺大厝」「茂桂园」「留秀楼」「观澜轩」「旭日东升厝」「寿山耸秀楼」；一座土楼「聚奎楼」，建于民国二十五年（1936年），出资者为旅泰华侨；以及作为祠堂的「亲睦堂」。[4]

1927年，朱德所率的南昌起义部队回师入闽，途经福塘宿营休整，「万顺大厝」曾为其驻扎处。[4][7]

村中设有「朱德率南昌起义军回师入闽纪念馆」，据博雅地名网所载，它是福建省内最早设立的朱德纪念馆，展出历史图片、照片与实物数十件。[7]

太极古村又称福塘太极村，是环抱于五凤山脉间的古村落，大致形成于明万历至清康熙年间，原为朱氏聚居之地。村中一条S形溪流把村落分成阴阳两半，溪南的南阳楼与溪北的聚奎楼分居鱼眼位置，整体呈太极图样。据博雅地名网所载，村内尚存明清古民居62座，共858间。[5][6]
