桂竹村位于福建省漳州市平和县崎岭乡南部，属边远山区的老区村，距乡政府约12.5公里。全村下辖14个自然村，据博雅地名网载，有375户、1610人（未注年份）。[1][4]

地名由来[edit]

古时村中生有一株桂花树，花开时香气满村，又盛产杂竹，其中以桂竹仔最为突出，村名由此而来。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

1945年，村地属崎岭乡桂竹保；1950年改属第六区桂竹乡，1951年归新建第十区。公社化后的1958年改设桂竹大队，1984年又改组为桂竹村委会。[2]

自然环境与荣誉[edit]

百度百科称，村中森林覆盖率达95%，2020年获评「福建省森林村庄」，2016年曾被列为省级重点贫困村，2017年实现脱贫。[4]

2024年1月，桂竹村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
