新村是芦溪镇下辖的行政村，下辖6个自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

清初，叶氏十一世祖由蕉路迁来此地，开基立业，逐渐形成一个新的自然村，因此取名新村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代设新村乡，隶属芦溪约；1945年并入芦溪乡新村保。新中国成立后，1950年划归第七区新村乡，1958年组建新村大队，1984年成立新村村委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，新村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[2]

著名人物[edit]

叶以正（女）是新村人，民国二十六年生，所学为哈尔滨工业大学的技术物理。1961年毕业后，她赴清华大学进修两年，1963年回到哈工大任教，1982年评为副教授，1988年评为教授。[2]
