红楼村位于霞寨镇东北部，村名来自一座圆土楼改名后的称呼。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

清初，卢氏村民建起一座圆土楼，名为长运楼。同治年间土楼遭火灾，重建后改名红楼，村名也随之称作红楼。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

红楼的历史：1945年隶属小坪乡的红楼保，1958年改属霞寨公社，称红楼大队，1984年才改为村委会；1950年则设第二区的红楼乡。[1][3]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，红楼村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
