双马村坐落在安厚镇西南，离省道东东线平诏段只有1公里，离镇政府约3公里。全村下辖6个自然村，分别是马堂、龙坡、井下、将军径、山美和顶新楼，另有12个村民小组；其中马堂社内有马堂张氏家庙。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来是：开基时姓马的人家在此建房居住，因后山形状似马，遂称双马。[1]

1958年起属安厚公社，称双马大队；1984年改为双马村委会。1950年归第五区双马乡，1945年为平南乡马堂保。[1]

2022年10月，双马村经福建省农业农村厅认定，成为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」之一。[1]

全村面积3.38平方千米，其中水田1120亩，山地3386亩。[1]
