历史沿革[edit]
镇名的来历，据博雅地名网所载：镇域周围环山，中间是一片平原，地形如盘，而方言里“盘”与“坂”读音相近，于是称坂仔。[4]
此地旧称宝鼎、宝野或双宝。[3] 明代，境域分属清宁里的一图与二图。[2] 新中国成立后，此地先归第四区管辖，之后于1956年起称坂仔区，1958年又设为公社。[3][4] 20世纪80年代初改为坂仔乡，1992年撤乡设镇。[2][3][4]
抗战时期，中共漳州中心县委与闽南特委机关驻在坂仔，闽粤边红军游击队也曾在此整编为新四军第二支队第四团。[1] 1939年12月，毛泽东为坂仔的“天利植牧场”题词：「造成生产战线上的模范、战胜日寇」。[1]
地理环境[edit]
花山溪与南胜溪穿越全镇，境内的石齿山、十尖山等山峰水源涵养条件较好。[1] 博雅地名网还列有天然温泉与摩崖石刻等资源。[5]
经济[edit]
改革开放后，坂仔形成了纵横十里的香蕉种植区，镇上也建成了全国最大的香蕉专业市场，平和因此赢得「中国香蕉之乡」的美誉。[1]
近年来，坂仔围绕蜜柚发展上下游产业，并推动农业与文化旅游相结合。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
林语堂故居与林语堂文学馆位于林语堂出生地，即原坂仔基督教堂的旧址。[4] 林语堂的父亲林至诚所建的教堂与住宅在1974年被拆除，现在的故居是依照原址重建的。[6]
坂仔林语堂故乡纪念馆位于宝南村：工程自2005年动工，2007年12月6日开馆。[6] 详见宝南村。
北斗七星土楼群是镇区附近排列着的七座土楼，当地有“七星伴月”之说，其中的环溪楼、宾阳楼、庆阳楼、熏南楼是其中的几座。[4] 熏南楼始建于清乾隆年间，为两层的圆形土楼，内外两环共分十二个扇形单元，建筑面积2675平方米。[4]
镇内的举人府、铜壶宫、心田宫也是重要的人文资源，其中铜壶宫与心田宫同对台文化交流有关。[1]
文化[edit]
戏剧、龙艺等各类民间艺术在坂仔流传了几百年。[1] 民间信俗有三平祖师信俗，民俗则有闽台乞龟等。[4]
荣誉方面，2008年4月，坂仔镇经环境保护部评定，列为「第七批全国环境优美乡镇」。[4] 2014年7月，坂仔镇被确定为「全国重点镇」。[4] 2017年11月，中央文明委认定坂仔镇为「第五届全国文明村镇」。[1][4] 2020年12月，福建省爱卫办把坂仔镇定为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[4]
著名人物[edit]
林语堂，1895年10月10日生于坂仔，原名和乐，后改玉堂、语堂，是中国现代作家、学者和翻译家。[2][6]
平和县人民政府网站称，南京大学中华文化研究院院长赖永海与注册中国烹饪大师叶原林都是坂仔人。[1]
博雅地名网的概况称，元代的李志甫与清代的林爽文，都是坂仔籍的义军首领。[5] 其相关名人名录还列有吴凤、林献堂、黄梧等。[4]
