赤州村是书洋镇下辖的行政村，村名的来历是先祖胡须发红，方言中「须」与「州」音近，故称赤州。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前属书教乡赤州保，解放后归田中央乡管辖。1956年加入高级社，公社化后并入田中央大队；1961年体制下放，设为赤州大队，1984年改为赤州村民委员会。[1]
