村名的来历是九龙江上游的四条小溪在此处汇合，成为一条大溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地为和溪乡和溪保，解放初仍属和溪乡。合作化时期这里属建桥高级社，人民公社时期叫和溪大队，此后1984年成为和溪村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，和溪村列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」名单，由福建省农业农村厅认定。[1]
