荆美村属南靖县金山镇，是镇西南部的一个行政村，处在九龙江支流上游，地形为丘陵与河谷冲积平原的过渡带。村内的显应庙是县级文物保护单位，每年农历三月初三举行庙会。村子被认定为省级乡村振兴实绩突出村。[1][2][4]

地名由来[edit]

古时村中有一座荆美楼，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时称山尾，解放后设荆美村。公社化后曾与其他村同属一个大队，1962年重新分设，1984年，改设荆美村委会。[2]

荆美楼是清乾隆年间建在山脚下的大楼，门楣顶端的石碑刻有「荆美葆障」，村名据此确定。[2]

人口与村落[edit]

村落面积有一平方公里，全村现有1600人，430多户，设8个村民小组。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

显应庙始建于清代乾隆年间，1997年重修，砖墙红瓦，四龙戏珠。1985年，该庙被列入县级文物保护单位。[3][4]

庙会每年农历三月初三举行。[3]

产业[edit]

村内种有香蕉、龙眼、荔枝、甘蔗和麻竹（笋）等特色农产品，并有运输业与养殖业。[3]
