马公村是南靖县金山镇下辖的行政村，位于浮山两侧的盆地中，马公溪流经村境，距镇政府所在地约1公里。村子是金山镇的文化中心，南靖第二中学设于村中马公街。村中的慈济宫已列入县级文物保护单位。[1]
地名由来[edit]
最早在此开基的是马姓，故称马公。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
村落在清代已有开基，当时是金山的三大圩之一，马姓最早建基，后有林、卢、吴等姓迁入，因马姓人口少、家族小，便议定以马姓为主，杂姓共用公地。[2]
解放后设马公乡；公社化后成为马公大队，1984年，改设马公村委会。[2]
建筑与古迹[edit]
村中有明代成化年间建造的慈济宫和威惠庙，清代的马公庙、京顶庙等庙宇十多座。慈济宫已列入县级保护文物。[1]
物产[edit]
村中作物有水稻、甘蔗、蔬菜、麻竹与香蕉。耕地约2600多亩，山地2550亩，过去被称为金山的「谷仓」。[1]
金山香饼是金山镇的传统特产，据博雅地名网，清乾隆年间已有生产，源于马公村一家香饼店的制作手艺。[1][3]
荣誉[edit]
1992年，村子被南靖县委、县政府授予「村民自治达标村」先进单位称号；1993年被漳州市委、市政府评为「建设社会主义新农村先进单位」；1996年被福建省人民政府评为「家园杯，优胜村庄」。[2]
