院前村是南靖县靖城镇下辖的行政村，是靖城镇未划入高新区托管的六个行政村之一。村名与欧山书院有关。2024年1月，村庄被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1][2][3]

名称与沿革[edit]

“院”指欧山书院，又称和尚院；“前”为方位词，村名意为书院前面形成的小聚落。[1][2]

明代中期，有漳浦浦阳人迁来此地，在和尚院（监察院）前建房定居，村由此得名。清代此地归习贤里管理，民国时为院前保。解放后设乡，1956年并入公社体制，归院前管理区。1958年改为管理区，1961年由管理区改为大队，1984年设院前村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，院前村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
