大沃社区位于铜陵镇中心区北部，临近大澳国家中心渔港。该港是闽南渔场的泊船港澳。社区名称原应写作“大澳”，因方言谐音被误写为“大沃”，沿用至今。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地原属码头街道。1987年6月，滨海路以西的部分另立大沃街道居委会；社区名称后于2002年10月定为大沃社区居民委员会。[1]
