后姚村是东山县陈城镇下辖的行政村，位于东山县东南端，由后姚、东厝两个自然村组成，耕地300多亩。全村160户670多人。[1]

地名[edit]

建村时，两兄弟都姓姚。兄长先在前面的地段建村，名为前姚村，后已废弃；弟弟在宋墓山附近另建村落，取名后姚村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地归诏安县五都三图的碧浦保管辖，民国时隶属东南乡陈城圩保。解放后归二区港口乡，1961年设后姚大队。[1]

1984年大队改为村，隶属陈城乡；1990年起属陈城镇。[1]

经济[edit]

改革开放后，村民由单一的农作物种植转向芦笋与果树种植，部分劳力外出打工。村中已接通电力、闭路电视、电话与自来水，并建有小学教学楼。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办将后姚村命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2025年11月，后姚村被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
