白埕村位于东山县南部，是陈城镇下辖的行政村，也是镇内的一个农业大村。全村3880人，合956户，村域面积2.53平方公里，耕地2250亩。[1]
地名与历史沿革[edit]
建村前这里是一片荒沙滩，冬季飞沙如雾，夏季望去又像白茫茫的大海。村落建立后，村的四周有大片的晒盐平地，村名由此而来。[1]
宋代这里属漳浦县安仁乡思政里。清雍正十三年（1735年）属诏安县五都二图梧龙保。民国五年（1916年）东山建县后，属第三区；民国时期一度改属复兴乡，后又归东南乡管辖。[1]
东山解放后，村属第二区白埕乡。1958年成立人民公社时属陈城公社，1984年改属陈城乡，1990年起属陈城镇。[1]
经济与科技[edit]
村域山杂地1220亩，以芦笋种植为主，芦笋种植面积1600多亩，兼营水产养殖。1982年落实包产到户后，村中调整农业结构，陆续推广日本大葱、萝卜等蔬菜品种。[1]
同治二年（1863年），村民在附近浅海区养殖泥蚶，据称是东山人工养殖泥蚶的开始。[1]
村中的沙生植物园占地六十余亩，种植国内外水果等八十余个珍稀品种。该园是省重大科技项目，也是「东山县沙生植物园开发种植与研究推广基地」，并为县内的德育教育基地与省市科普基地。[1]
荣誉[edit]
村曾被省委、省政府评为「明星村」，并被县委、县政府评为历届「文明单位」与「全面工作先进村」（博雅地名网所载，未注年份）。[1]
