山东村是东山县陈城镇下辖的行政村，地处东山县西南部，以种养业为主要经济基础。村内辖山东与前坑两个自然村，全村733人，合172户，面积约0.87平方公里。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

因位于旗山东侧，山东自然村得此名。建村始于明朝中后期，清代归诏安县五都五图厩下保管辖，民国时期划入东山县东南乡。[2]

1950年解放后，村中先后组织互助组与合作社。1960年改为陈城公社的山东生产大队，1984年改设陈城乡山东村，1993年又改称陈城镇山东村。[2]

前坑自然村依傍旗山山脚，村名源于村前一条大山坑。该村有陈、吴、林三姓。[2]

村内过去分为顶山东与下山东，城墙遗迹至今尚存。[2]

经济[edit]

水产养殖120亩，耕地470亩，另有山果林地500亩。村中种有芦笋200亩，荔枝、龙眼等果树200亩，并有鲍鱼、牙鲆鱼的陆上工厂化养殖场50家。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，「2021年福建省卫生村」称号由福建省爱卫办授予山东村。[1]
