前马村是樟塘镇下辖的行政村，与开发区相邻，疏港公路横穿村前。村名沿用古称马鞍村。[1][2]

地名[edit]

这一带的山势与地形如同一匹马，前马与后马两村各占马背上一处凹地，形状像马的两个鞍座，故古称马鞍村。建国后改为今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属诏安县五都四图张塘保的前马鞍村，民国时隶属东山县中兴镇马鞍保。建国后归三区古马乡（该乡含古港），1959年改属康美公社古马大队，1961年独立设大队，归樟塘公社。[1]

1984年为樟塘乡前马村，1993年成为樟塘镇前马村。[1]
